Sounds Great
Not an advert - a recommendation: Oon Wireless Earbuds
Just got these from ASDA for a tenner and they are really, really good. Better sound than my high end corded ones! Just gotta see if the battery life is up to it.
Still using wired ones for Switch obviously but these will be perfect for in the kitchen (Netflix whilst cooking, etc) and on the bus for music.

Feeling old
Wow, sometimes you can go from just being an experienced gamer to an old gamer in one go.
Earlier my family decided to put High School Musical on. The film was made in 2006. 2006 was 13 years ago. Thirteen.
Other fun examples; my friend's teenage son finding a floppy disk at my house and asking "What's this?", I was slightly mortified. Actually, the fact that my friend has a teenage son and worse, an older than teenage daughter!

I recall Oblivion being amazing visually. I remember Tekken 3 (the NTSC Japanese version, not the slow PAL version) being the pinnacle of fighting games.
Going further back - Body Blows Galactic on the Amiga. Even further - Elite, the most open world game ever (at the time) and then Frontier: Elite 2 blew us all away.
F:E2 was released in 1993 - 26 whole years ago.

It's not all bad though, I do feel that I came into gaming (1984) at the perfect time, I have seen the rise of experimental tech and great new gaming ideas as they have grown.
Right now, to those of us who can compare the old to the new, it is a great time for gaming. Apart from in game microtransactions, they need to go!

Don't put it off too long! (timed bonus things in games)
Dagnammit! So after waiting ages to get the daily login bonus of 75% off things in the store - awesome frames to make me even more god-like, weapons of insane destruction, cute paint packs, etc... I couldn't decide on what to use it on, so I thought
I'll return in a bit once I have decided...
Which... I failed to do. And now I gotta wait aaaaages for that one to return!

Replay, rebuy?
Dust: An Elysian Tail, brilliant action platform game that was drawn and animated by one guy with a dream, then he learned to code and wrote it too! If you haven't played it I really do recommend it. When people speak of "indy" games they mostly tend to refer to the millions of pixel art style games, this is not one of them. I have it on PC, having never had an XBox this is the only copy. However, it is now available on Switch and I am struggling not to buy it again. It wouldn't be the first time of course when I have multiple formats of the same game; Skyrim I have on PS3, PC and Switch. FFIX I have on PS1 and Switch. Now Flashback I have on Switch and technically still have on Amiga, that's where it is definately OK to have multiplatform as I am not about to wake that old friend up. Not even sure I have the right cables. The two I am craving is the aforementioned Dust and Final Fantasy VII (which I have on PS1, PC, PS3 and Steam). Ah well, I can resist... I can.

Games and Music
Two of my main loves in life. Games help me in so many ways, I play allsorts of them. Currently hooked on several games on the Nintendo Switch.
One caught me by surprise - Fast RMX - it's like Wipeout from the Playstation without weapons and a LOT more speed!

I am also well and truly back to playing Monster Hunter seriously, my focus is Generations Ultimate and am enjoying the arts of the Hunting Horn!

Musically I am currently listening to a brilliant set of orchestral covers of Prodigy music! Bizarre but great. I am greatly saddened that the last two Prodigy gigs turned out to be the last, I am so very happy I got to see them.

Initial blurb
Finally got the site looking closer to what I want. I remember when I used to be a lot more involved with sorting my site but lately not had the drive.
Some of that is because I have been more driven with work, my daughter and generally gaming. Still, finally here.

Last year I started doing the Doodles and also dedicated more time to my YouTube channel, then it all lapsed a bit. I am hoping that this, my 8th blogging attempt, is one I will actually continue!
